Rules people get wrong
- School bus with flashing red lights: stop from either direction and don't pass until the bus moves, the driver signals you on, or the lights stop. No stop is needed on a different road or on a controlled-access highway where pedestrians can't cross.
- Drivers under 18 may not use a wireless device at all — not even hands-free — except in an emergency.
- Move over: leave the lane next to a stopped emergency, tow or TxDOT vehicle with lights on, or slow to 20 mph below the limit.
