Rules people get wrong
- Stop for an ice cream truck showing red lights and a stop arm — from either direction — then pass at no more than 15 mph.
- Never flash your high beams back at an approaching driver; look to the right side of the road until they pass.
- Clear snow and ice from the hood, trunk, roof and windshield before driving: $25–$75 even if nothing flies off, up to $1,500 if it causes injury or damage.
- All traffic fines are doubled in work zones.
