Under Minnesota law, how much clearance must a motorist maintain when overtaking and passing a bicyclist?

    The answer

Answer: B. Minnesota traffic statutes require motorists who are overtaking a bicycle traveling in the same direction to maintain a safe clearance distance of at least three feet between their vehicle and the bicyclist until safely past. Drivers may cross the centerline to pass a bicycle safely when clear. When safe to do so, drivers may cross the centerline to provide this required clearance.
